Founded 1958 – Affiliated to Cheshire County F.A. and Member of Wirral District F.A.
The Wallasey Junior Football League is a development from a Youth League formed in Wallasey in 1942. In those days, the age level was under 18 but in 1956 a Scouts League was formed and then opened to players other than Scouts and in 1958, the present League was formed.
In 2012 the League was awarded Charter Standard by the FA and was the first League on the Wirral to receive this prestigious award.
For a Charter Standard League it is a requirement that all member Clubs in the League have the Charter Standard Club Award or are working towards Charter Standard. New Clubs are required to obtain the Award within 2 years.
Parents/Guardians with children at Charter Standard Clubs can be assured that the Lead Coach of their team should have, at least, a FA Level 1 Coaching badge. All Charter Standard Clubs undergo an Annual Health Check by the FA which ensures that the Coach has an up to date CRB, Safeguarding Children Certificate and First Aid Certificate. These have to be updated every 3 years.
The League is always looking to improve and for Season 2016/17, working in conjunction with Cheshire County FA, we will be trialling a Winter Break for some age groups and providing Futsal for the boys and girls. We are proud that our League was asked to take part in the trials.
The League was awarded Charter Standard Junior League of the year in 2016/17. This was in recognition of the hard work by the Committee to provide alternative football during the winter months.
Any Clubs interested in joining the League should contact theĀ League Secretary.
